COURSE AIM: To understand the importance of food safety and the law relating to food safety including enforcing authorities.
COURSE INFORMATION: This course gives appreciation of the fundamentals of good food hygiene practice and enables food handlers to recognize and control hazards to ensure safe food for children. This course supports setting requirements under the EYFS for those responsible for food preparation. This course includes: How to comply with the law; what goes wrong to cause food poisoning; cooking, chilling and storing food safely; cleanliness – protecting food from people/premises; food pests – how to stop them sharing our food.
SUITABLE FOR: EYFS practitioners working in playgroups, nurseries, creches or children's centres with children from birth to five (end of their reception year) who are responsible for the preparation and handling of food. Candidates are required to bring photo ID.
