Autism in Children for Early Years

Course Aim: To develop understanding of how autism can present itself in young children and to explore ways of managing the child's need positively.       

Course Information: During the session we will consider the following:

  • What is autism?
  • Communication: Theirs and ours.
  • Sensory Issues: how these can affect the child's behaviour.
  • Managing challenging behaviour.
  • Going on trips.
  • Supporting the family.

Suitable For: Anyone who works or volunteers in an early years setting and would like a better understanding of what to look out for and how to support children with autism.
