PATA Rural Crèche

The PATA Rural Crèche Service provides childcare in rural  locations, enabling parents and other local adult learners to return to learn, and eventually to work. It is also used to support local activities and events organised by other agencies such as Health, Libraries, Business Link and Children’s Centres.

Qualified childcare staff run the crèche in rural venues adjacent to where learning activities are taking place.

The service initially started in the north Cotswolds, as the accessibility issues are greatest here, but is expanding to other rural areas such as the Forest of Dean.

PATA Rural Crèche Service featured in national SureStart magazine

In a "day in the life" feature article in the Summer 2007 edition, Sarah Mann described her job as Crèche Coordinator for this innovative project. The crèche service provides flexible, high-quality childcare alongside a variety of training and other events in the rural areas of Gloucestershire.
