training needs you could receive up to £300 or £500 towards your course

PATA Introduction to Children’s Play
This 10 week course (2 hour sessions) is a "hands on" practical
course looking at play from the child's perspective. The course is for
parents and carers to develop play with their children and for those who are

Working with Children
PATA is pleased to offer this exciting 6 week course (2 hour
sessions), following on from our well established and successful
Introduction to Children's Play. The course provides excellent
underpinning knowledge for those wanting to work with children and gives

First Aid - Health & Safety
- Food Safety
PATA hosts a range of courses from the Basic Paediatric First Aid session
for parents looking after their own families to the certificated Paediatric First Aid
14 hour course for those working with children; from Moving & Handling to
Health & Safety in the Workplace; from Healthier Foods & Special Diets
to Food Safety.

National Vocational Qualifications
(NVQs) in
Children’s Care, Learning and Development (CCLD), Supporting Teaching &
Learning in Schools (STL) and Playwork. These nationally
recognised qualifications at Levels 2 & 3 are
delivered by PATA's Assessment & Training Centre (A&TC). From fast
track (one off opportunities starting early October to complete by March
2010, supported with Train to Gain funding) to one year
programmes. These qualifications support the roles of staff working with children 0-16. PATA's Assessment & Training Centre has an excellent rating from City &

Assessor and Verifier Awards (A1 & V1) are progression opportunities for
qualified (at least level 3) and experienced childcare professionals.
