Introduction to Autism in Children

Course Aim: To develop understanding of how autism can present itself in young children and to explore ways of managing the child's need positively.       

Course Information: During the session we will consider the following:

  • What is autism?
  • Communication: Theirs and ours.
  • Sensory Issues: how these can affect the child's behaviour.

Suitable For: Anyone who works or volunteers with children and would like a better understanding of what to look out for and how to support children with autism.

Delivered by: Sara Watters, Lead Practitioner, Senior Learner Support Worker, HLTA and QCF Assessor for The Milestone School.  Sara has 20 years of classroom experience, 15 of which have been at The Milestone School.
