Course Aim: To help you fill a vacancy in your setting with the least amount of anxiety and the greatest amount of success.  We aim to provide the skills and confidence to identify the skills needed in your setting; then how to advertise, interview, select and document the process.  This is about understanding the legal, ethical and professional methods for recruiting and helping you establish a robust and practical process.

Course Information: This relaxed and informative session will explore how to manage recruitment and selection activities effectively, efficiently and professionally.  We will look at:

• Identifying the skills/attributes needed and effective job descriptions
• Advertising
• Screening CVs
• Alternative selection methods
• Interviewing – questions and techniques
• Documenting – dos and don’ts

• Probation periods 

There will be time for questions and answers from an HR consultant with experience as a committee chairperson and from PATA’s CEO who has extensive Early Years working knowledge.
