Course Aim: to provide practitioners with a better understanding of what self-regulation and executive function looks like in their setting. And how this fits within the revised EYFS and Development Matters.

Course Information:

What does a self-regulation look like in a child? We are not born with self-regulatory skills but we are born with the ability to learn. Self-regulation matures in the presence of supportive, nurturing relationships and environments. Play is an important way in which we can support the development of children’s self-regulatory skills particularly through pretend and physical play. This course will consider how we can support the development of self-regulation and executive function using a variety of strategies.
