Course Aim: to support practitioners in capturing a child’s love of books and storytelling from a very young age and to understand the intent, implementation and impact of storytelling.
Course Information: As Early Years Practitioners we have a responsibility to nurture children’s love of books and storytelling. Children benefit from experiencing stories through all their senses and the way we deliver storytelling should make an impact on children’s future outcomes.
This 2 hour course will focus on the intent, implementation and impact of storytelling in the early years. We will consider a variety of programmes such as storytelling story acting, Story Sacks and the use of core books. Storytelling provides opportunities to cover all 7 areas of your curriculum, to discuss sensitive topics and to engage parents in their children’s learning.
