Course aim The aim of this course is to provide Early Years practitioners with the opportunity to reflect on the learning environments that they create and consider how those spaces promote wellbeing, engagement, progress and attainment. Alistair will be particularly focussing on what makes a language rich environment and how to capitalise on the opportunities that it offers.
Course information Alistair will be drawing on his 30 years of experience in the Early Years along with examples from current research and practice to discuss the significant impact that the environment can have on children’s wellbeing and progress. He will be looking at how environments are created, how the resources that we choose invite emotional and cognitive responses from children and how language and literacy development can be successfully promoted for active engagement.
