Outstanding Leadership in Early Years

This course is now fully booked.  We are currently gauging interest to run this course again and are asking people to join the waiting list here.

These 4 sessions will consider many aspects of leadership in the Early Years, from auditing and ensuring effectiveness of provisions and effective interactions to considering strategies for supporting and managing change. The four webinars will support leaders/managers to consider all four key principles, outlined in the EYFS Statutory Framework, and how to identify and lead change where necessary.

There will be a small gap task to consider/complete between each session.

Session 1

This session will focus on vision and values for your setting. It will be an opportunity to reflect on your own values/vision and how this can have impact on teams, as well as on the children in your setting. We will also discuss the unique child and research around how, as well as what, children need in order to feel safe, valued as unique individuals and developing their characteristics of effective learning.

Session 2

The Indoor and Outdoor Provision – during this webinar we will discuss effective continuous and enhanced provision and consider and how to audit the effectiveness of the learning spaces. We will discuss the work of Ferre Leavers on well-being and involvement and consider how his work can support us in further developing practice and provision.

Session 3

This webinar will focus on the critical role of the adult, considering how to support and develop adult interactions with children to support, encourage and motivate learning across all seven areas of learning. It will be an opportunity to discuss your team and what you currently observe in relation to their interactions. Ideas will be shared on how you can further develop where necessary.

During this webinar we will also begin to discuss managing and leading teams, considering leadership attributes that can support whole team development.

Session 4

This webinar will focus on supporting teams through change and strategies on managing more difficult conversations.

The four webinars will be a place where leaders/managers have the opportunity to share what is working well, along with challenges that you may be working through. It will be a place where you can talk confidentially to each other in a supportive network, as well as considering key actions from the information shared in the webinars.
