Course Aim: Risky Play is a natural part of children’s play and children often seek out opportunities for engaging in challenging and so called risky play. This course will help you to gain a better understanding of the importance of Risky Play and its benefits.
During the session we will look at the following:
The course aims to provide you with the information and confidence required to facilitate risky play within your setting, giving you an understanding of children and risky play and your role and responsibilities when risky play takes place.
Playwork is often undervalued as a separate discipline so we have developed this course to look specifically at this area and to support practitioners to develop their skillset.
Delivered by: Nicki Woolway, a Level 3 qualified playworker with 9 years experience of owning and managing two play settings.
Suitable For: Anyone who works or volunteers with children in a playwork setting (Out of School Club) including breakfast, after school and holiday clubs who would like a better understanding of risky play and anyone who has attended our ‘Introduction to Playwork’ course.
